Public Employee Member of the Year

123 Public Employee Member of the Year
1. Purpose: In order to recognize excellence in public programs and services, MEA-MFT shall annually recognize and honor a public employee member of the year
2. Criteria: A candidate for Public Employee of the Year shall:
a. Have been an active dues paying MEA-MFT member for a minimum of the last three consecutive years.
b. Have served for a minimum of the last three consecutive years in Montana public employment, including but NOT limited to state, county, and municipal employment.
c. Plan to continue public employment during the selection year and the appointment year immediately thereafter.
d. Not have been previously honored with this award.
3. Award: The Public Employee of the Year shall:
a. Be honored at the annual MEA-MFT representative assembly.
b. Serve as Montana’s nominee for any equivalent NEA or AFT award.
c. Serve as an MEA-MFT delegate to an NEA or AFT public employee conference of choice.
d. Have state and national affiliate dues waived for the appointment year.
e. Shall be memorialized as appropriate at MEA-MFT headquarters.
f. Receive other considerations as the MEA-MFT budget may permit.
4. Selection Committee & Process: The Public Employee of the Year Task Force, as appointed by the MEA-MFT president, shall serve as the selection committee. MEA-MFT shall design and implement the selection process.
