Amazing Carol Juneau
State Senator Carol Juneau (Browning) is one of 16 MEA-MFT members serving in the 2009 Montana Legislature.
Carol served four terms in the Montana House of Representatives. This is her second term in the Senate.
Carol is probably most noted for passing the Indian Education for All Act in 1999, finally implementing Montana’s constitutional promise to teach tribal history and contemporary issues to all k-12 students in the state.
Passion for education runs in Carol’s family: her daughter, MEA-MFT member Denise Juneau, is Montana’s new Superintendent of Public Instruction. Her husband, Stan Juneau, is a long-time teacher and school administrator.
