to our newest higher education members, the Associated
Faculty of MSU Bozeman! MEA-MFT now has higher education
units at every institution in the Montana University System
and we're working on that. Our members work at:

What we do for higher ed members:
Your
voice in issues that affect you: MEA-MFT stays involved
in the political process to give you a strong voice in policies
that affect you and your students.
We work closely with the governor, Montana Legislature, Board
of Public Education, and Board of Regents.
We
also work to elect pro-education candidates running for office
in Montana.
Lobbying
for higher education: MEA-MFT's lobbying team works hard
for higher education during every legislative session. We
won major victories for higher education in the 2007

Protecting
you, your job, your rights: MEA-MFT's highly skilled
staff help members resolve all kinds of work-related problems,
from protecting academic freedom to safeguarding health benefits.

Contracts: MEA-MFT staff also help local affiliates
negotiate and maintain contracts that protect members' rights,
working conditions, and salaries.
Liability insurance: Your MEA-MFT membership protects
you with a $1 million professional liability policy for defense

Stand
Up For Education: Our award-winning campaign has mobilized
thousands of Montanans to speak out for better state funding
of higher education. The campaign is ongoing.

This essential funding mechanism for higher education comes up for a vote every six years. MEA-MFT plays a huge
role in getting the job done.
