MEA-MFT members help lobby
Over 140+ MEA-MFT members volunteer to act as legislative
contacts during the 2009 Montana Legislature.
As legislative contacts, they regularly call, e-mail, and
write their local legislators about bills
important to MEA-MFT members.

Legislative contacts Cathy Kuntz of Great Falls and Larry
Nielsen of Helena get ready to talk to legislators at the
state capitol Feb. 20.
Over 100 of these folks from around the state traveled to
Helena for MEA-MFT Legislative Action Days Feb. 20-21.
"It's very important that legislators hear from their
local constituents, the voters from their districts,"
said MEA-MFT President Eric Feaver. "It makes all the
difference."
Legislative contacts make sure legislators know how bills
would affect Montana's teachers, education support professionals,
higher education faculty, state and local government employees,
Head Start staff, and health care employees.
Thanks to all of our legislative contacts for their hard
work and time. They are doing Work That Matters!
