MEA-MFT's national affiliates

When the former Montana Education Association and Montana Federation of Teachers merged in 2000, they formed MEA-MFT.

MEA-MFT is affiliated with the 3.2-million-member National Education Association (NEA) and the 1.2- million-member American Federation of Teachers (AFT).

AFT, in turn, is affiliated with the national AFL-CIO. As a result, MEA-MFT is also affiliated the national AFL-CIO as well as the Montana State AFL-CIO.

"We are part of a big union family," said MEA-MFT President Eric Feaver. "That's a good deal for our members."
