Sidney teacher confirmed deceased

Jan. 13, 2012 - Our hearts go out to the family, friends, co-workers, and students of MEA-MFT member Sherry Arnold, a high school math teacher in Sidney who has been missing for several days.

According to the Billings Gazette, law enforcement officials confirmed with Sidney School District this morning that Sherry is dead and that two suspects are in custody.

The notification came to the school at 9:30 a.m., following notification of Arnold's family, said

Superintendent Daniel Farr.

"It's very sobering," he said.

The school has shortened its school day and canceled its Friday games, he said.

"That's what the kids wanted," he said.

The entire community of Sidney, including Sherry's students, had participated in a several-day search for her. You can read more here.
